One of the most charming places to have a wedding in Charleston is at the William Aiken House. This property is one of the most recognizable historic sites in all of Charleston. The William Aiken House was first built in 1807 by a local builder James Mackie. However, by 1827 the house was acquired by a South Carolina House of Representatives member William Aiken. Aiken was also president of the historic South Carolina Canal and Railroad Company before he died in 1831.
