Lucky Brand depicts a typical day on downtown Charleston's King Street. This original, as are most of Paul's paintings is a mixed media creation. The process began with a photography taken with a Canon 20D SLR digital camera. The photo was then developed in the darkroom of Adobe Photoshop. The next step was a virtual painting of the photo completely hand-brushstroked in Corel Painter X. That image was then printed to canvas, 16 x 24,stretched, and prepared for painting. The resulting canvas was then handpainted in oils covering 95-100% of the canvas and finished with a museum quality preservative medium.
This painting shows a typical day on King Street. College of Charleston students walking with backpacks, tourists with full shopping bags, and cars lining the street is what you see when you walk along things shops.
